Frequently asked questions

Do I need an internet connection?

Only once, to activate the full version — you just enter your key, nothing else to configure. After that FLASH POS works completely offline. When the computer happens to be online it quietly re-checks the license in the background, but a missing connection never stops you from selling. The demo never needs the internet.

Do the phone apps need the internet?

No. FLASH Waiter and FLASH Caller ID talk to the POS computer over your café Wi-Fi, so the phones only need to be on the same Wi-Fi as the POS. Connect them by scanning the QR code shown on the POS (Settings → Café & local network). Both run on Android 7.0 or newer.

How many waiters can work at the same time?

As many as you need. Any number of phones and the cashier can work on the same tables at once, and every change appears on every screen immediately. Each waiter has their own account on the POS, with their own permissions and a password or PIN.

Can I move my license to a new computer?

Yes, through our support team. Call or WhatsApp us on 07702841828 with your activation key and the new computer’s Device ID (shown on the activation screen). We transfer the key to the new computer and the old one is deauthorized. You can’t move the key yourself — that is what keeps it safe.

What if my computer breaks?

Call or WhatsApp us on 07702841828 with your key and the replacement computer’s Device ID so we can transfer your license. Then activate FLASH POS on the new computer and restore your latest backup. That is why regular backups to a USB drive or another folder matter.

How do backups work?

Back up with one click, or schedule automatic daily, weekly or monthly backups to any folder — including a USB drive — and choose how many backup files to keep. Backups and restores are available to Owner and Admin accounts.

Which printers and barcode scanners work?

Receipts and bills print on ESC/POS thermal receipt printers (58 mm or 80 mm), connected by USB as a Windows printer or over the network (LAN, port 9100). A cash drawer connected to the printer can open automatically on cash sales. Any USB barcode scanner that types like a keyboard — the most common kind — also works without drivers or setup.

What are the system requirements?

Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit. A standard PC is enough — FLASH POS is designed to stay fast with 100,000+ products and years of sales history. The phone apps run on Android 7.0 or newer.

Which languages are supported?

Arabic and English. The Arabic interface is fully right-to-left, receipts and reports print in the selected language, and you can switch at any time in Settings.

What does the demo’s 60-item limit mean?

The demo is the complete app and it is fully usable — it never switches to a read-only mode. Its only limit is 60 active products (menu items). Orders, tables, the phone apps, customers, inventory, reports and printing all work without limits, so you can run your café with it and test FLASH POS on your real hardware before you buy.

Can I upgrade from the demo without losing my data?

Yes. The demo and the full version use the same data folder on your computer. Install the full version, activate it with your key, and your products, sales and settings are all still there — with the product limit removed.

How do I install FLASH POS?

Each download is a ZIP file that contains the Windows installer (Setup.exe) and an Arabic setup guide (README-AR.txt). Extract the ZIP, run Setup.exe and follow the steps; it needs Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may show “Windows protected your PC” — click “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
